Steve Madden Allly Pumps

I died...Literally, no joke. I have been lusting over these heels when I first saw them on Amazon.com. The initial $129 price was a little steep for me especially since I had nowhere specifically to wear these glamorous shoes so I held off and watched them for four months. It paid off because I scored them for $60 (half the price). Sparkle, glitter, 6 inch heels...amazing! They're so great I had to take my first video just to show you all how they look when the sunshine hits them!

Black, White and Red All Over

Peplums: You've seen them on the red carpet, out shopping, on the runway and now from my closet! We're definitely in the year of the peplums and I'm here to tell you that it's not impossible for the average girl to pull it off. I know I thought the same thing...who really wants to wear extra fabric around their hips? But if you find the right peplum (length, shape, style) and pair it correctly, it can become one of the biggest staple pieces in your closet.

Style Spotlight: Sarah Jessica Parker

I absolutely adore seeing Sarah Jessica Parker out and about these days. It's great to see her sense of style and how much it reminds me of the infamous Carrie Bradshaw. She always seems to bring a bit of edge to her fashion without being too over the top. Here's a few of her latest looks*:

Not that recent but I love this dress! She wore this to a premiere of Sex & the City so it seems totally fitting that she stepped out in style. The print, the movement in the material, the accessories...it's all a great homage to the iconic style of Carrie Bradshaw.

Here's a few examples of other Red Carpet looks*:

Sometimes simple and classic just works. SJP pulls off these 4 red carpet looks with just a hint of Carrie Bradshaw's flare. The way she accessorizes each dress with one statement/accent piece is what brings these looks together. Very easy glamour.

The actress struts her stuff in this mix and match separates looks. There's not many times that we see the star in a casual, playful outfit but when we do she sure makes it her own!

Blue Sunshine!

Update - Heels at Home – Try on Program

So a few days ago I told you all about the new program called Heels at Home* from Heels.com. (see post here http://candycoatedclosets.wordpress.com/2013/07/16/heels-at-home/)

Well I tried it so I wanted to give you an update and a few pictures.

Once I received the shoes, I got an email from Heels.com letting me know they were delivered and telling me the exact date I had to return any unwanted shoes by before being charged. They give you a full 5 business days try on period.

Over the next 3 days, I received about 4 different email remainders of my return date for the unwanted shoes before I would get charged. Seriously...they did not play around with making me aware of the date which is great!

Once I decided on what didn't work for me, I packed up the shoes, used the free shipping label heels.com provided for me and scheduled a fedex pickup and the shoes were on their way back! It's that easy! I didn't have to waste time/gas going to the store, spend hours waiting on line, or spend waste my time staring at a shoe online wondering if it would look right on me but not wanting to take the chance.

This is definitely something I'll be using more in the future because it's convenient, no hassle and FREE!

"I don't wanna grow up" are the words I screamed when I decided to go down the slide in 5 inch heels! Yes it was very crazy but I will admit I couldn't stop laughing at the end of this shoot!

Luichiny Shoes

"From our heart to your sole" is right! Luichiny has made a new mark in my closet and dent in my wallet but they are SO worth it. First up is the Where N when Leopard Pump!

Beyond fierce!!!! Honestly when I first received them I thought they may have been a little too over the top but that's just what they are...fab and fierce. Perfect for a hot covered leopard heel.

I know the idea of a 6 inch heel with a 2 inch platform may seem impossible to some ladies but believe me when I tell you these have been some of the most comfortable heels that I have ever walked in...and I've walked in my share of heels.

Next is the Luichiny Cara Platform Sandal!

When the shoe fits buy it in every color right? Well I surely live my life by that motto! After getting the Cara's in the black floral print I had to order the nude version. It's beyond perfect. The colors are so on trend and versatile that they can be paired with just about anything.

Next are the Luichiny Xtra Special Platform Pump. These are about two weeks old in my closet and I wanted to give you all a chance to see them on.

They are a gorgeous suede vibrant red. You can put it on by the buckle around the ankle or use the zipper in the back.

Mojo Moxy Pumps

You know there's just certain brands that you just can't get enough of? Well for me Mojo Moxy is definitely one of those brands.

First up is the Mojo Moxy Bettie Pump!

When I first saw them they immediately reminded me of the Mojo Moxy Buffy Mary Jane's that were a big hit! The Bettie's are a great retro, flirty pump that can give an outfit a sexy feminine twist without being too over the top.

Run true to size.
a 4 inch covered heel with minimum platform.
There is a light cushioning in the insole.

The details of the scalloping, the bow and the laser cut outs really give this pump something extra that can be added to any dress or pair of jeans. So far I've only seen it come in Black and Taupe (more like a creme in your coffee color).

Next, is the Mojo Moxy Draper Pump!

I couldn't help but throw on my ipod and blast "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson when I put these pumps on! The Draper's are a great example of the new menswear trend that's huge in the industry right now. Mojo Moxy really hit this one out of the park with the two tone color blocking and T-strap.

Run true to size but I would recommend going up .5 a size if you can.
Leather and patent leather mix.
a 4 inch covered heel with minimum platform.
There is a light cushioning in the insole.

Lastly, the Mojo Moxy Bella!

Oh my goodness! I cannot begin to describe these. By far these have got to be my favorite pair from my order. The color is gorgeous and they are so easy to walk in.

Leather upper.
a 5 inch covered heel with 1 inch platform.
There is a light cushioning in the insole.
Bow detail.

So out of all 3 styles I definitely recommend adding them to your collection! Timeless style for every shoe lover.

Heels at Home - Try on Program

When I shoe shop I become one with the shoes, so much so that it has taken on a life of its own. I like to feel the arch of the heels, touch the material, smell the leather - yes i said smell the leather :) and try on the shoes before I can commit to spending $30-$300 on a pair. So if you're anything like me when it comes to buying shoes then you must check out this new opportunity from heels.com*

Heels.com has a new program called Heels at Home - Try on Program. They have broken it down into 5 steps.

Step 1 - Choose 3 new favorite pair of shoes, heels (or let heels.com guide you)
Step 2 - Place your order with Free shipping and they'll arrive
Step 3 - Try them on at home! Yes put them on, make sure they fit, get a good feel for them (I highly recommend trying them on a carpet at home)
Step 4 - Keep the ones you love and only get charged for those that you keep!
Step 5 - Send the ones you didn't like back to heels.com. They provide you with a free Fedex label as well. You have 5 business days to send the ones you don't like back!

I am in love love love with this new program! I know all too well the dilemma of falling in love with a shoe online and debating whether or not to order because of the 1,001 questions. Oh will this fit me? Are my feet too fat for those heels? Is there enough arch support? Do I have a pair similar to these? Do I REALLYYYY need new shoes? Well ok I don't know how often I really ask myself that last question.

Most of the time when I'm plagued by all of these questions I don't even bother ordering the shoes because I don't even want to deal with the hassle of returning them. Problem. Solved.
