Grande Cosmetics HydraPlump Semi-Matte Liquid Lipstick – Review, Photos & Swatches
/PR Sample
Grande Cosmetics sent over 4 shades of their HydraPlump Semi-Matte Liquid Lipsticks for us to check out so let's dive in shall we?
From the brand:
What it is:
A plumping liquid lipstick with long-term, hydrating benefits.
What it does:
Decadently creamy with intense color payoff, this semi-matte liquid lipstick utilizes active ingredients, Volulip™, Instaplump™, and Hyaluronic Acid, to give an instant plump in three to five minutes with no strings attached. Providing long-term hydrating benefits, this long-wear formula ensures color is locked in, yet is comfortable enough to wear all day long without cracking, drying, or stripping the lips of natural moisture. It utilizes a unique Microsphere Delivery System to carry the active ingredients directly to the dehydrated portion of the lips, increasing moisture and contributing to the plumping effect.
Above are swatches of the colors taken with flash (the last photo was taken with no flash). From left to right: River Clay, Butter Rum, Red Delicious, Smoked Sherry.

My thoughts:
First, the colors are beautiful and I was excited at how these were a semi-matte liquid lipstick. Sometimes, my lips get tired of wearing the super matte liquid lipsticks. The packaging gets an A+ from me - it feels and looks super luxe. Especially for only being $25 for 2.50mL of product. The wand was good as well - I was able to get a precise line without having to do any clean up.
Now for the negative....the chemical smell on these are awful. I mean I'm used to dealing with lipsticks having a fragrance but this I can't even describe. I keep trying to figure out how to describe it but I can't...maybe it's like a burnt chemical mixture? I don't know but there was no way I could wear these for longer than the 5 minutes I had them on to swatch them which made me sad! The colors are great and the formula was good for what I could see myself using it for.
I did feel the slight cooling/tingling sensation and before you ask me...no I didn't really see plumping on my lips...they are big enough lol. Would I necessarily use a product like this to plump my lips? No. I would however use it to help with the lines on my lips and the drying that comes from most liquid lipsticks.
Would I would recommend these??? I would say go try it for yourself. Listen maybe the fragrance/aroma of the liquid lipstick isn't as strong to you and if not it's a great product to try. For me, though...I'm going to steer clear of them for a little bit until that smell is handled.
Overall grade: C- (because of the scent; otherwise I would've given it an A-)
