A Perfect Match

Everyday I'm looking for the best fashion deals that I can possibly find. It's the only way I can expand and change my wardrobe without breaking my budget. This morning I debated for about two hours before I ordered this fabulous Urban Expressions Deborah Satchel! It went on sale on DSW for $24 and I stared at it for a while. Until I opened up my shoe files (my personal shoe pictures) and remembered my newly purchased Jessica Simpson Arnold Pumps!

Talk about a perfect match and of course I died and ordered! Snatch yours up while you can! The color blocking is a major trend that i think we'll see for a long time!

Nars Scarlet Empress

Hello my beautiful Candies! Today's quick review is on the beautiful Scarlet Empress lipstick from NARS. I told you all I've become a make up fanatic over the past few months!

Scarlet Empress is described as a semi matte blue red. Retails for $26.

It's a very creamy lipstick that wears very evenly. It is a pure matte and luckily not as drying as other matte's but I still recommend wearing a lip moisturizer before applying. I definitely recommend splurging on this berry lip color for fall.

Enchanting Glamour

Marc Jacobs Beauty Lipstick Reviews & Swatches

Indulge in makeup that breaks the rules from the designer who does it best! Marc Jacobs gellified lipstick is full of pure pigment and has an unbelievable velvet creamy texture.  When I first put it on I couldn't stop packing on the layers because it felt made my lips so plump and moist.

The Lip Gel retails for $30. I used to be so opposed to buying lipstick so expensive but overtime I learned quality over quantity and these are definitely worth the splurge.

Style Spotlight: Floppy Hats

This week I decided to put the spotlight on one of my favorite summer accessories: floppy hats! Floppy hats are the perfect summer fashion staple. They're stylish, affordable, and functional. I love popping on a trendy colorful hat before running out of the door. It keeps me cool while I'm running around outside in the summer heat and if the humidity is unbearable, it is the perfect accessory to hide my frizzy hair.

By now I hope you know that I like to wear things with a bit more flare to them.

MAC Cosmetics - Indulge Collection 2013

It's a new day so that means a brand new collection from MAC Cosmetics! The MAC Indulge collection just dropped online on August 15 and will be in stores August 22. I picked up a few pieces that I was VERY interested in online so here's a few swatches.

Left to right: Lust for life, Utterly Tart

Just a bite: Oh yes this did it for me! Just a bite is a gorgeous, deep, creamy red that will stand out on any skin tone!  It's definitely one you want to get back up's of!

Sweet Succulence: This is a very deep plum. It took about 3 coats to get it to full opacity and even then parts of my lips looked uncovered. Besides that it will be a gorgeous color for fall.

Feed the senses: I was really hoping this would be the perfect nude for me but alas my search continues! Its a pink, mauvey nude and on my NC45 skintone it's a bit washed out on me.

Lust for life lipglass: My second favorite of my batch! It only took 2 coats to get full coverage on my lips! I love the delicate sparkles that show up on my lips.

Utterly Tart lipglass: This one went on very sheer. It's a beautiful color that would be good to add a pop of color over a red or berry lipstick.

All in all I like the pieces I ordered from the Indulge collection. Just a bite is definitely the stand out piece for me!

Why Social Media Marketing Works!

On the social media marketing section on my blog, I explained many different ways companies like to use their social media channels to connect with customers and create brand loyalty. I just wanted to share one of my most recent social media marketing experiences.

I recently won a J.A. Henckels Bellasera 45-piece flatware set, service for 8. It retails for $168.

Sneaker Nail Art

The thing that I love about fashion is that you can get inspiration from anything and everything around you. Recently, I did a blog post that was focused on wedge sneakers and decided to paint my nails in reference to them!

I'm fairly new at the nail art thing so bare with me. I used Orly's French Manicure pink tone base, Sinful Colors Nail Art for the white manicure tip, Sinful Colors for my black accent now and one Seche Vite top coat. I added a ring from Inpink.

XSRE Flash Sale - Part 2!

XSRE is killing me lately! Last week I posted about their hour long 75% off flash sale of the entire store. Well a few days later they had another for any 3 pieces of jewelry for $10! At first I was like...wait any 3 pieces? Like any 3 pieces meaning no maximum? Oh yeah I was going shopping again!

Let's Kick It

So I don't get too many of these to review but I figured with back to school shopping season almost here it'd be a great time to review some sneakers! Wedge sneakers to be exact because let's face it...I can't sacrifice my height or my style.

First to review is the Qupid Ting-08 Wedge Sneaker

Strike with bold force in the Qupid Ting platform sneakers. This suede wedge is a heel less wonder with it's lace up front. Rock out in this jaw dropping style! My first time wearing these type of heels and it was surprisingly very easy and comfortable.

• 1¾" platform, 5½" curved wedge heel
• Synthetic sole
• Fits true to size

I'll admit I haven't been the biggest fan of this shaped heel/wedge trend. When I got these I kind of stared at them for a while because I was wondering what to pair them with. I love the black and white colors and how bold they are. After wearing them a few hours I can say that they are starting to grow on me. Definitely a pair of showstoppers.

Next we have the G by GUESS Putnam Wedge Sneaker.

Create a sporty chic look with the Putnam wedge sneakers from G by GUESS. These fun-loving lace-ups are sure to shake things up.

Madden Girl can do no wrong right now in my book. The Olleyy's are very simple but the suede feels so sumple.

Why is make up so addicting?

I've can't believe that I've gotten sucked into another obsession! Make up, make up, and make up some more! More specifically I've started collecting a lot of pretty pieces from MAC Cosmetics.

I also picked up Midnight Mambo and Ablaze! I'm behind excited to build my MAC lipstick collection and can't wait to show you all some new lip designs!

I also stopped by Sephora to pick up some pieces from the Ariel collection and decide to try a Mascara from Make up for ever and Urban Decay glitter eyeliner.

Steve Madden Allly Pumps

I died...Literally, no joke. I have been lusting over these heels when I first saw them on Amazon.com. The initial $129 price was a little steep for me especially since I had nowhere specifically to wear these glamorous shoes so I held off and watched them for four months. It paid off because I scored them for $60  (half the price). Sparkle, glitter, 6 inch heels...amazing! They're so great I had to take my first video just to show you all how they look when the sunshine hits them!

Summer Hair Woes

Let's face it...we all love going to the beach and feeling the warm sun beating on our backs in the summer but along with that comes the unbearable humidity in NY which is torture for my hair. Lately, I've been experimenting with different hairstyles and hair products to try and keep it healthy and conditioned in the summer.

So it's time to review some products! First up is my set of Organix coconut milk/coconut oil that I picked up from CVS, Ulta.com, Amazon.com.

The weightless mousse is great for hydration throughout the summer. It's a very light mousse that is blended with coconut milk and whipped egg white proteins that strengthens your hair throughout the day. This is best used to style your hair after shampoo/conditioner.

The nourishing coconut oil weightless hydrating mist is a perfect blend of coconut oil and bamboo extract. I give my hair a quick mist spray throughout the day just to give it a healthier shine to it and keep it moisturized. It smells amazing by the way.

The nourishing coconut milk anti breakage serum is  blend of coconut milk with whipped egg white proteins that adds strength to your hair. This I use twice a day - once in the morning and once at night. I rub about 2 dime size pumps in my head and make sure to rub it through my entire hair thoroughly. I actually feel like a cupcake after putting this in my hair. It's so light, fluffy and again, smells just like coconut.

 

I cannot say enough about the Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Curl Style Milk. This is a must have in any naturalista hair regime. They are both so light but they keep my hair conditioned throughout the entire day. Here's a picture of me with my natural curls using these 5 products.

Black, White and Red All Over

Peplums: You've seen them on the red carpet, out shopping, on the runway and now from my closet! We're definitely in the year of the peplums and I'm here to tell you that it's not impossible for the average girl to pull it off. I know I thought the same thing...who really wants to wear extra fabric around their hips? But if you find the right peplum (length, shape, style) and pair it correctly, it can become one of the biggest staple pieces in your closet.

Style Spotlight: Sarah Jessica Parker

I absolutely adore seeing Sarah Jessica Parker out and about these days. It's great to see her sense of style and how much it reminds me of the infamous Carrie Bradshaw. She always seems to bring a bit of edge to her fashion without being too over the top. Here's a few of her latest looks*:

Not that recent but I love this dress! She wore this to a premiere of Sex & the City so it seems totally fitting that she stepped out in style. The print, the movement in the material, the accessories...it's all a great homage to the iconic style of Carrie Bradshaw.

Sometimes simple and classic just works. SJP pulls off these 4 red carpet looks with just a hint of Carrie Bradshaw's flare. The way she accessorizes each dress with one statement/accent piece is what brings these looks together. Very easy glamour.

The actress struts her stuff in this mix and match separates looks. There's not many times that we see the star in a casual, playful outfit but when we do she sure makes it her own!

Blue Sunshine!

XSRE Flash Sale

Welcome to accessory heaven. Have you ever had an event to go to and needed to find the perfect set of bangles, necklace, or earrings to really make your outfit?! I don't even know why I asked because I  know the answer to that is yes. Usually shopping for the perfect accessory is a hassle but not anymore.

XSRE is a THE store with everything you need in one stop. Literally everything...I'm not exaggerating. When you first woke in the store your hit with the glitz and glamour and everything in between. From bangles, bracelets, necklaces, rings, headbands, clothes, shoes, hats, hairclips, nail polish, make up and more You name it and you can find it all in XSRE.

Now for the fun part...I was sitting home editing some pictures when I got a flash email from XSRE for 75% off everything in the store!

Cue my thoughts....75% off...I should stay home, I don't really need anything....but 75% off everything...everything???? Can I make it before 7? Well needless to say I threw on a dress, fluffed my hair out and drove to the store as fast as I could.

I arrived there around 6:27 and knew I did not have much time to browse around. I was a woman on a mission. Buy everything I could!

Ok I may have overdone it but 75%?! Come on! Deals like this do not happen everyday.

I filled up my basket and needed to do another run around the store just to be sure I didn't miss anything I would regret. Looking down at my watch I only had 7 minutes to do so before the 7:00 deadline so my heart was racing. I'm not sure if you remember the supermarket game show where the contestants would run through the aisle grabbing anything and everything they wanted and whatever they got to the finish before time ended they got to keep for free? Well that's exactly how I felt running through the aisle because 75% off is just about as close to free as I'm going to find!

The sales associates in the store were amazing! Usually I like to shop in peace and ignore everyone but they were all so friendly and helpful I couldn't help but stop and chat.  They definitely handled the flash sale and craziness of 75% off very well.

 

After all was said and done I saved over $500!! BANANAS!

Even as I'm sitting here writing this I'm regretting not purchasing more. So keep your fingers crossed and let XSRE know on their facebook that you want another 75% off flash sale!
